When (lime) Green Means A Healthy Sustainable Environment
Everybody knows about the new political thrill. Right?
And aren’t we all DYING to finally see its’ manifesto?
Unfortunately it is yet to make a grand entrée. The bore of waiting and considering the fact that its’ figurehead has never made the slightest greenwashed impression on me, have induced me to extend a helping hand (shown kindness may be applauded here).

Federal Ordinance for early elections “Duncan’s Law” passed by unanimous vote in Parliament ~All senators vote in favor~
SMNN -
Willemstad --- The Parliament of the Netherlands Antilles unanimously passed the federal ordinance creating the possibility of early elections and other major constitutional changes. The federal ordinance- also referred to as "Duncan's Law" – gives the Island Councils of St. Maarten and Curacao the authority to dissolve themselves and hold early elections after the approval of their respective draft constitutions. Additionally the ordinance changes the Island Regulation (ERNA) to allow the Executive Council of St. Maarten to expand to seven Commissioners and increases the Island Council of St. Maarten to fifteen members after the next elections.[More....]

Theo forms United People’s party
PHILIPSBURG--The United People's (UP) party has arrived. After months of speculation and public whispers, Commissioner Theo Heyliger confirmed Monday night the formation of the island's newest political party, with emphasis on the people and the potential to completely alter the political landscape in St. Maarten. For the first time in his political career, Heyliger will not be a member of the "red machine" Democratic Party (DP) co-founded by his grandfather the late Dr. Claude Wathey. Instead, he will participate in the election for Country St. Maarten with a new distinction: party leader. His intention is to proclaim lime green as the colour of his party, if the colour is available according to political party colour regulations.[More....]

A plan of action has been developed to deal with the 1036 persons whose physical address has been labelled as unknown.
Election expected around mid-June
WILLEMSTAD--In all probability the elections for the Island Council to become the new Parliament of Country Curaçao will be held somewhere mid-June. In the political corridors in Willemstad there is talk of June 11 or 18. One of the reasons to hold the elections in June is that many families will be spending their holidays abroad during the school vacation in July/August. To hold the elections after the holidays would be too late, as the Island Territories Curaçao and St. Maarten will acquire the status of country per October 10.[More....]
DH Editorial - Elections
The Daily Herald - It looks like St. Maarten and Curaçao will be going to the polls again even sooner than expected. With the new relations within the Dutch Kingdom to take effect on October 10, 2010, elections for what will become the Parliaments of the new two countries normally would have to take place at least two months before, which would be August 10.
However, because the school vacation runs from the end of June to mid-August, indications are that the elections will be held as early as mid-June. After all, many people, especially those with school-going children, traditionally go abroad on holiday during the vacation period, which probably would have a negative impact on the voter turnout.
