"Progess" continues at Dawn Beach as is shown in the photo above. The developer is raising the level of the valley floor by pulling down the hill on the south side next to Dawn Beach Estate. Rumors are that they now want to use dynamite on the hill in order to have more material to fill with and to make way for the concrete monstrosity they plan to build. Recently workers from the property were seen taking photos of nearby buildings, presumably in case the dynamite they use caused any damage to them. Anyone with any brains would surely realise that some damage may not even show for years to come, however Columbia Sucksit has not shown any sign of having any as yet.

My understanding is that a law suit is being filed against the developer by property owners on the north side of the property. It would appear that the plans are to raise the valley in such a way that water will drain through a new culvert being built along the north side as shown below
The developer is in breach of thier permits in at least two instances. The first is that no boundary wall that is solid can be more than 1.5 meters high. Secondly, all construction must take into account the drainage of bordering properties. As you can see from the pictures above, the construction of the wall will cause all drainage waters from the northside hill to gather in the bordering properties, which will cause flooding of those properties.
The roller pictured on the left in the photo above is directly over where the old pond used to be, about 2 meters over it. Also, the plans apparently keep changing for this project, no one really knows what is going to be built, except the developer.
Any judge with any worth would call an immediate stop to all work on this development. Do we have any on the island? We shall see.
Don't forget to vote for the Environmental Enemy of the Year 2005 Award. Sucksit are nominated but keep in mind it is our so called "Environment Commissioner" who is ultimately responsible for allowing this and other destructive developments to take place.
