How to record audio news and interviews

News and information does not just come in the writen form, it comes on the radio and tv too, the problem is, you have to be listening or watching at the right time, or you miss it. We here have been trying to capture what we can now and then, but we are missing alot and we are seeking help from you readers out there.
Recording audio is very easy and most radio stations and hosts are fine with this, not only does it help keep the public informed, listening to a politician speak is much more revealing than reading about it, but it also gives publicity to the station and show. Below you will find a guide on how to capture audio and share it online.

Radio stations and hosts most likely have the ability to record their broadcasts as MP3's, so if you are a politician you should ask for a copy if you want more people to hear it.

To record online radio yourself, you will need to download a free program called Audacity, it is very simple to use. Once you have downloaded the program, open it and on the toolbar you will see a little selection box that will probably say Microphone, select this and change it to Stereo Mix. You are now ready to record.

Open a browser, find the radio station you want to record from and click the red record circle on Audacity. Once you have your recording, you then save it as an MP3. You can then download it to ZShare.

Unfortunately, ZShare does delete recordings after 10 days if no one listens to them, currently one of our editors will click each of the links in our Audio Files page every 8 or 9 days, but this is not a viable long term solution. Once we have a found a better host site and donations permit us to pay for it, we will let you know.

Once loaded on ZShare, you will be given a link to the recording, paste this into a comment here on SXM PE and we will make sure it gets filed in the appropriate place. Be sure to state the station, persons and date of the recording.

And that's it, really simple and easy.

New recordings from the past week have been added to our Audio Files page for your listening pleasure.
