Who in their right mind would throw away a career for $1000? Not me that's for sure. This forces us to think these alleged dirty cops are not so smart. So who's fault is that? Maybe the police are letting stupid people into their force, and these stupid people throw away a good career for a few short terms bucks.

But of course these are only two cops that were caught. There are plenty of others that need to be weeded out of the system. If you are really serious about corruption, you start by having totally independent investigations---police should not be investigating themselves. You also give the investigating body intelligence support and some teeth. But of course we all know they are not serious, otherwise they would have found more than 2 alleged dirty cops.

They find 2 corrupt cops when they are not really looking, imagine what they would find if there was a confidential full time investigative body to hear complaints, investigate them and refer the matters to the public prosecutor for criminal action? The police would not like that. If we can't even get the Lt. Governor to ratify a code of conduct for politicians, what hope is there for the police force, which is locally headed by that same Lt. Governor.
