I have observed that the brown water effect happens once or twice a year. It is a temporary algae bloom, if you look closely at the brown you can see the small particles. If you take he same pictures now you see the water is back to its normal greenish color. Yes the lagoon is dirty, and nobody stops the sailboats etc from dumping their own septic tanks, used oil, and marine batteries into the lagoon. BUt the brown thing is something different, and luckily it tgoes away.

This over development policy has been disastrous for the island in the long-run. This is a terrible price to pay for development. Sure a handful of people get rich, but at what price?

Mr. Marlin, these photos are living testimony to your culpability and what you have willingly allowed to be done to SXM under your watch. You did not fall asleep at the switch, you handed the switch over to your financial masters (the developers) and paid no heed as long as the money hit your numbered bank accounts.

And you Mr. Marlin, you rubber-stamped it all the way. You ignored these environmental criminals and turned a blind eye to their actions.if not participated in the financial booty to get things pushed through nice and quietly and quickly. Sure the developers love you, but don't expect them to take your rap when the time comes. You will be on your own and out on a ledge.

You should not be just be taken out of office, but you and all your family and business associates should be investigated deeply for financial impropriety, both locally and internationally.

You will soon have to pay for all those under the table transactions that permitted this island to be turned into a toxic waste dump. Don't forget they even caught up with Claude Wathey eventually. You will be no different.

You might think you can run off to the US after you lose this next election. The people of SXM will hunt you down and bring you back to account for your crimes against nature and the people and all your dirty deals will be in the open. Mark my words, this day is coming, and maybe sooner than you think.

The voters hate you anyway. You have sold them out and you know it and they know it. Your entire tenure in this post has been a sham, and you have been nothing but an apologist for the land developers.

In the meantime I hope you take some time to think about your lonely future, and that you will most certainly die a lonely old man with only money as your comforter---what a waste! The people of Sint Maarten hate you for what you have done to the island, and what you have not done to save the island. Just wait till the next election and you will see how much people hate you and what you stand for (or would not stand up for), since I am sure you are a man with no moral fiber, but only take a position that "greed is good". Take a look what happens to greedy people. They all end up lonely people where even their own families are too disgusted by them. That is you in the future Mr. Marlin. You made your bed, now you will have to sleep in it eventually.

If you received any religious instruction as a kid or were once a a God fearing man, there will be most certainly a day of judgment and you will have to answer for your wicked ways and crimes against this its people, this island, nature and the heritage that you denied to future generations. You will eventually pay the price.
