Everyday I have tried to follow this news via internet. There are many articles/editorials about how everyone is appauled by this crime. It appears to discust everyone except the police. I just can't imagine how the police force has not solved this case.
I have noticed that as each day goes by you hear less and less about the progress or any other info. Not only from St. Maarten but worldwide. It seems to me the longer it takes to solve the less likely it will happen. Is that what the police are waiting for? Maybe they are hoping that as time goes by and less coverage is given to this story it will fade into the cracks.
It seems they solve a lot of crimes that way.

and the police chief has to be removed!!!! it is about time that SXM receives a chief of police that will keep the force motivated, with self respect and create a force that will respect their job and have respect for their chief and the sxm community.
I too share the view that this incident has finally brought the light on the poor performance of the police, I too live on sxm, if it takes a so- called gay bashing incident to highlight that the police needs restructering, so be it.
I am sure that if the crime had been targeted against gay or straight locals, it would have been a non-issue, so I for one am happy that this incident has gained international news about the police poor performance.
