The Safe Haven drama continues. On Monday the 6th June The Today Newspaper gave a front page spread to a press release from the board of Safe Haven. Nothing was in the Herald that day but the next day The Daily Herald had a reply from Lorraine's lawyer.

The only right thing to do was to hire a professional to run the institution. The salary should be paid by government and funding should become available to cover some of the expenses. The board will continue to help generating additional funding for the institution.

Only thing is

I can't see why any proffessional would want to work for this board or for that matter the government. There are just too many things wrong with the current social system, is it dysfuctional and totally underfunded like most other important institutions on the island ie: Police, VROM, Immigration amongst others. Basically we have mismangement and incompetance pretty much across the board here in my opinion. The problem for any government that may come in after the next elections is just where do you start. And with the island bank account empty, how do you pay for it?
Allowing the present government to borrow is just going to make it worse, they haven't come up with one balanced or complete budget since..... well, since a long long time, if ever.

only thing

i understand your frustration but the situation and the circumstances are ripe for the change. We just need to come and work towards changing the atmosphere and it takes time and determination. Think positive and just surround you with the people to make the difference tomorrow. We need to work hard. It means that already you have recognized Gracita as one of the players you would like to see. Nevertheless she is not going to get there unless we all get together and speak with the share holders and convince them in the upcoming election to vote for PPA. Start now and you will see the result.
