Let's Go Digital!

While citizens know their way around on WWW, the St Maarten government plainly sucks at it.

Did I convince you already or would you like some examples?
Ok, here's a pretty good one: outdated website. It's hilarious really, the pictures of the commisssioners are so .... w8 I'll just give you this one:

Frans.

Stop laughing!

Serious ameliorations need to be made (voila, I made up the new 'it' word!) concerning the goverment's service.
We could get digital... gov could make use of information and communication technology (ICT) to provide and improve government services, transactions and interactions with citizens, businesses, and other arms of government.
Warming up to the idea?
It's really convenient and cost-effective for businesses and the public benefits by getting easy access to the most current information available without having to spend time, energy (energies?) and money (monies?) to get it.

Imagine the benefits of e(lectronic)-government including efficiency, improved services, better accessibility of public services, and more transparency and accountability!

Red tape, gone! Welcome in our paperless office.

What happened to that USONA fund? Or why not a PPP with telecommunication firms?
Think about it!

XOXO

The New Political Party's line: Vote for use and we'll make sure gov delivers some serious service :)

@#&*% I see, the link doens't work :S
T wasn't me!
link

And blog promoted! Sorry, didn't get a chance to check in this morning :)

There is something being planned, I recall some tenders being put out for a govt information system. Maria put together a site for the economic affairs, you can find what I think is a new photo of Frans there. :)

But you know, they don't really like to give out too much information or be too transparent.

LH

Thanks :)
And now I would like to share with you the most exciting news in the world right now...
we are going to have a SEASIDE NATURE PARK!!!
just behind 'the beach' in Cole Bay.
I'm going to have champagne tonight. O and another thing, if that's interesting to anyone...the quay wall in the same area will strech about half a kilometre in the ocean.

Let's click on that link now...
yuk how am I going to keep my food in?

Anyway, about Maria, Roy, Sarah and Louis... as in fashion, one day you're in the next day you're out :P

XOXO

PS What was SWW trying to prove the other day at Belvedere? That having been kicked out of the ExCo means that's OK to dress inappropriately?
I know what her profession is going to be in her next life... maybe she'll find an employer in Simpson Bay?

Argh I forgot that email address from that crap OG show... has anyone written it down?
I have some amazing lines, names and creative ideas for that new party. And I don't even ask for monies in return!

Again, the green election stuff from Iran should be reused here! If the color of the party is going to be green, which it is, then this would be the perfect way to underline that green element.

OK, something else I want to know, did the gov pay for the commissioner's $25,000 (yearly) platinum membership? For the FCCA I mean. This is what he gets:

• Exclusive Associate Member meetings and luncheons.
• Listing/Profile in Membership Directory, utilized by all FCCA Member Lines (each cruise line executive will,
whenever possible, patronize Associate Members).
• Access to up-to-date research and statistical studies.
• Listing in FCCA’s Caribbean Cruising magazine.
• $500 Discount on each ad placed for the first year of membership (Does not include package rates).
• Savings on registration fees for the annual FCCA Caribbean Cruise Conference & Trade Show.
• Discount on insurance program for Tour Operators.
• Associate Membership plaque and yearly updates.
• Use of FCCA logo on printed materials.
The Platinum Extras:
• One complimentary registration for the FCCA Gala Dinner.
• One complimentary registration for the FCCA Caribbean Cruise Conference & Trade Show.
• A seat on FCCA’s Platinum Associate Membership Advisory Council (PAMAC).
• One complimentary Cabin for the Annual FCCA PAMAC Cruise.
• One complimentary registration for the Annual FCCA PAMAC Conference.
• Company profile and updates in FCCA’s Caribbean Cruising magazine.
• Private lunch & meeting at FCCA’s Annual Caribbean Cruise Conference & Trade Show.

Isn't it fun? And all that for only $25,000 a year :) Will Mr. Blackman be so kind as to please answer my question (which was: who pays the membership?)? Very much obliged!

XOXO

Thanks people for promoting me to the FP... not.
And I would also like to take advantage of this opportunity to thank everyone for making comments to my first blog.
