Business leaders analyse results of election

A few weeks after the 2005 General Elections, Business Leaders for Economic Progress, headed by former Agriculture Minister Atherton Martin, have offered an analysis of the results of the polls.
At this month's polls, the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) won 12 seats as opposed to the United Workers Party's 8, and according to the businessmen the reasons for that victory ranged from the Diaspora vote to bribery of voters.

The group, which also comprised of individuals such as former National Bank Credit Manager Louis Robinson, and Hotelier Sam Raphael, was most vocal during the election campaign taking specific issue with what was seen as DBS's refusal to allow dissenting voices to be heard.
