Watching the Weather - Omar

Dont think for a minute the French side is any better. We have had our seasons of power problems and water problems and I dont think none can beat the new years in darkness season that happen on the french side some years ago and not to forget the months of water issues. Afterall, the dutch side have a economy, what do we have? I dont think it should take GEBE over 1 week to restore its standing, I believe the people of St. Maarten are more than willing to join forces in helping clean up the plant under some supervision in just some short time. Meanwhile French side generally did not receive any severe damages as the dutch side and we should not compare them both. We must stop this criticism act afterall its only those with the perfect last name will survive afterall.

Since hurricane Louis, we were promised that we won’t have to go through long periods of power outages again since the electric cabling will now be run underground. So no more fallen poles and broken power lines. Well, most areas are now underground and yet we are experiencing the same problem. So what is their excuse now? According to GEBE, seaweed is affecting their system because they use the water from the sea to cool their generators. It’s strange that only St. Maarten have this problem. Not even the French side has such a rediculous issue. Maybe the problem is Mr. Brooks himself. Why doesn’t he find out what the French side, Curacao or other islands are doing to filter seaweed from entering their system? I understood Curacao build water breakers to avoid this seaweed problem. Can’t we do the same? If we can build a multimillion dollar pier, I guess we can. We are not paying these huge GEBE bills for nothing.

Don't be ridiculous to blame it on Brooks. The poor guy just arrived. When should he have fixed this? Blame Jesus Lambert. He knew all along or at least since hurricane Luis that the GEBE cooling system has major issues. He never bothered to improve it. Government didn't pay any attention either as usual.
This is what you get. I am disgusted. It is 13 years after Luis and we still have major issues with basic needs as electricity and water and a sewage system.
It is pathetic. I am ready to shoot somebody. Not that it helps but it will sure feel good.

Brooks is a damn thief! Only likes to fill his pockets.

The day he went on Laser and spoke of the power not being able to come on for a week he stated that with the little bit of current they have available they would power the most important places.

That very night, EVERYTHING WAS OFF and guess where was ON?!?! The DUMP!!! Le Petite Chateau!!!! and 2 wonderful new buildings all lit up... FOR WHAT!?!?!.

Was someone paid under the table by the proprietors of this brothel to have power? why only there? why are the illegals given current whle the rest of us tax payers suffer?!?!?

Someone called into Laser and complained of this and then all of a sudden at 4am that morning 95% of the island is ON?!?!?!

Mr. Brooks is a god damn lyer! I live right down there there was no "SEA MOSS"

He fucked up by leaving the plant running during the hurricane, its plain and simple... Its normal to shut it down during a hurricane, but like you said he is Young... and also Very Stupid!

Any new pictures? Word from Saba is the harbour got really mashed up, along with a few knocked over trees

just would like to add this website to the list, very easy and very clear :
