Philipsburg: --- A top Civil Servant was detained for almost four hours yesterday by Federal detectives SMN News have been reliably informed. The detention came after a particular businessman was arrested some two weeks ago and questioned on donations he gave to a commissioner and his senior staff members.
The source said during the past week at least two senior civil servants working for the said commissioner was questioned as recent as last Friday and was released. However, based on information they received from S.C they might very well re-arrest the senior civil servant whom they questioned on Friday and another civil servant was also implicated.
The source said that one of the civil servants who were in the center of a particular foundation that received a $50,000 was arrested once and questioned a second time.
The civil servant with initials S.C SMN News understands was questioned about three foundations that belong to the commissioner with whom she is working. The source said that at least one businessman admitted to giving monies to one of the foundations on monthly basis.
While the businessman was kept overnight the civil servants who were questioned spent just a few hours in detention.
