Immigration in Sint Maarten
Anonymous (not verified) | Mon, 2007-12-03 09:38

I understand that when you do wrong you get punished. That's clear but the immigration department is Sint Maarten is just dreadful. I can say in my dealings with him at least he was a kind person who listened and did his best to help. At present coming through immigration is it "Guilty until proven innocent." I have dozens of tourists coming through and they are often traumatised by the experience. Is it possible to get these folks to change their attitudes...??

You do the crime, you do the time. But that said, Marcel Loor is a scapegoat, a guilty scapegoat, but still a scapegoat. Do these investigators mean to tell me there was nobody from the labour department involved. Like hello, the prostitutes Loor was fixing resident permits for also needed work permits - so are we to assume that the Labour permits were legally done? Nah, I think not, I smell a rat. And what about reports that some very high ranking persons in the Police Dept. heard about Loor and did nothing? And what about Loor's girlfriend, shouldn't she be facing charges too? Justice must not only be done, but it must appear to be done. In this case, I think Justice is half-blind.

PS. I can't say I feel too sorry for Mr. Loor though since when he comes out after serving less than 2 years, he'll be out by New Year's 09 - he'll still have what at least a half million US dollars left. I know I could work with that.

It is actually interesting to see that apparently nobody has any comment about this topic...
It was written and speculated so much before, that people may have been worn down about it...

Loor and Crimes

I feel a little bit for Loor , you now why . He just went with the system of St.Maarten.
Yes, the emigration question is poisoning the Island and he should be in jail for that. What about all those that dealt with Loor , they now very well that illegal things where going on .” Do they go free ??” I think they should do time as well.
There are businesses that have 20 Directors , and 2 employees .
Are the authorities going to rectify this loophole in the Law .
What a about all those Fake and Poison merchandize ,where ever they come from ,
China-Tailand etc, Remember the Toothpaste from China. Did anybody do something
about that, and with Company imported that ?? What is the Chamber of Commerce doing , there should be a department there that control such tings. There are official
Distributors on they Island that import the genuine merchandize, why should we accept
Knock offs -Poison-Fake or less quality stuff and still pay the price as for the real one.
Money laundering ,St.Maarten is a heaven for that . Where get Loor all that money
from ?? Coming from somewhere on the Island !!. You now we have in St.Maarten
an office that controls the Money Laundering “Interpol” (International Police) do they still exist , or are they on Vacation. When o When they going to open there Eyes
probably when it’s all to late . Name withheld .for security reasons.

The other side morning show said what everyone was thinking

Vance James morning magazine the other side said exactly what everyone was thinking about this issue.... this was on yesterdays program.
I only wish that Vance would send his commentary to this website so that the international community can hear it.

ah well, or everybody agrees with the verdict - at least I do - and is of the opinion that justice has been done?
What I am interested in is whether there are other high-placed officials and politicians who knew about what Loor was doing, e.g. Mr. Holiday. Is there any news on that?
And furthermore it interests me how Loor can stay in the medical department of Point Blanche prison for such a long time? At least he does not look ill to me. What is the role of prison management here? why was he not send to Curacao? OK, there are lot of rumours about this, but it are the facts that are important. Any information on this?

Richardo the principlel

Richardo knows his father very well. Both where in the Army. Richardo makes sure he can stay.
Holiday knew the minister knew he even warned him last to stop with his activities.
But the didn't do nothing for a long time. That there where police in the casinos every knew. So Holiday must have known because he comes there often.
That makes him guilty. With that amount of money i think Loor is indeed a sheep. The wolves are still there.
