Well, he discovered that when he came to SXM to assist the prison staff (he was sent by the Dutch Ministry of Justice), which was at the end of the year 2006, that a female employee of the prison transferred NAF 200.000 to her own bank account. He of course tried to sue her, but somehow the case was dropped and not once but twice and he returned to The Hague on the first of February this year. Mr. Romkema had intitially planned to stay for two years.
The female employee still has her job and she has been backed up by her boss.
No one supported Mr. Romkema, so he departed.
And that's the way the cookie crumbles in the country of Saint Martin.
