Long Term Parking at PJIA airport ?

PJIA has 1/2 hour charges but do they have daily or weekly charges if you want to spend a few days visiting another island ? Most other airports in the world have some sort of "long term" parking arrangement and discounted charge.

Airport fiasco

Yes it would be helpful if the airport management would consider these things prior to implementation.
Unfortunately the world class airport is being run as a " quaint " caribbean airstrip.
The parking is in the wrong place and gives no consideration to the traveling public. Increases traffic congestion, is dangerous for passengers crossing a major road with bags.
There are insufficient baggage handlers / trollys.
Immigration continue to enjoy there lunch whilst processing arriving passengers, whilst talking on their cell phones.
They continue to tow and deposit cars closer to airside for illegal parking in front of the terminal, testing the requirements of ISPS
The taxi drivers continue to block the view of the arrivals entrance so that people trying to pick up their guests cannot see them. Testing the requirements of ISPS
It is not just the lack of thought over the 30 minute parking. Its just being managed badly , period

Parking

It was good to see that the airport had been asked to "consider" moving the parking to where it should be. It hasn't happened yet , but we will see.

Now, an interesting article in the paper about a land swap. Seems fair enough to me. Swap the land, re route your road around the existing passenger parking lot et viola problem solved. Take the option and you can leave your passenger parking where it is.

What is about the airport management ? There are solutions to problems which are so obvious and yet there is always a reluctance to act ?
Its either ego or corruption , its certainly not fair to the people of St Maarten.

Oh , move the taxis that would be smart. It is actually against the law in many countries to park a vehicle adjacent to a designated public crossing. It ruins the line of sight for crossing pedistrians and drivers alike. It will cause an accident one day.

thanks
