I had to laugh Wednesday morning when I saw the front page article in the Daily Herald about the forecast rise in real estate prices. It is possible that this story is being printed 6 months late because of the ineptness and slowness of the Department of Economic Policy and Research, whomever thay may be, but it is rather interesting that it follows so closely after my previous post.
I will mention that I'm not an expert, just a layman giving an opinion based on what I see, what I read and the conclusions and outlook that I come up with. Yes, I am biased, I believe there should be a moritorium on large developments and a comprehensive study made on where St. Maarten is headed. I have no doubts this post will upset some people, but you can't please everyone and be honest and true to your beliefs. Ce la vie.

It seems quite likely the Daily Herald has read my previous post, thier Editorial implies as much. It's a typical DH weak attempt to pretend to really care about the issue, but not really. Nice promenant placing of the article and headline though, big and bold.
Hey, maybe its just me seeing things.
Recent discussions with another real estate agent confirms that sales and presales are sluggish, almost desperate in some cases. There are about a dozen major projects and a few medium ones, approximately 2500+ condos, villas and homes all seeking buyers who can spend over $350,000.
Considering that US home sales are near a six-year low and lending institutions are tightening up on loans.....
