Research from news consumers in seven countries predicts that online news and information sources will overtake TV newscasts within five years. Even today, many people believe it’s already easier to get news online than to read a newspaper.

Here we are again with a round up of interesting stuff from around the www and as always, readers are invited to add their own interesting finds below in comments. There is plenty here below to keep you busy for a while, hopefully something for everyone.

Starting off this week with Richard Dawkins, I found the excellent BBC documentary 'The Blind Watchmaker', based on his book of the same name, on Google Video. It's 47 minutes long and well worth spending the time. This Evolution video from PBS, much shorter, is also worth the time for those out there having difficulties with Darwinian Evolution.

Richard Dawkins also recently released the paperback edition of his best seller 'The God Delusion', of which two copies (hardback) have been ordered for the Philipsburg Library. In this video he responds to the questions and the criticism the hardback edition created.

Christopher Hitchen's bestselling new book, 'God is not Great, how religion poisons everything', of which two copies will also soon be donated to the Philipsburg Library, revently had a very interesting debate on Hardball with Al Sharpton.

Ronald Aronson from The Nation writes about the Rise of the New Atheists and new research reveals the Science of Gaydar.

For those of you who recently watch The Secret at the movies, or are planning to rent it, this hilarious Australian review of the movie should put things in perspective for you. Or, you could watch this recent musical release from the vile Phelps Family Westboro Babtist Church in the US, 'God Hates The World'. Yes, these people are for real.

Over in Europe, a recent report has confirmed the CIA ran secret prisons and conducted (probably still conducting - CD) 'Massive and Systematic Violations' of Human Rights'.

There was a full length BBC documentary posted on YouTube, sadly it has been removed, but you can find part of it featured here on a BBC news report and if you dig around a little I'm sure you can find more. The CIA of course rejects rejects the report , silly Europeans. Don't you know those flights were only part of an internal CIA Vacation Scheme.

Oh, a trial just started in Italy, twenty-six American defendants, including two CIA station chiefs and an Air Force colonel, are being tried in absentia in the 2003 abduction from Milan.

Over on the other side of the Atlantic, Elizabeth Edwards confronts the vile Coulter live on air and the Daily Show reports that Dick Cheney doesn't really exist.

In a computer presentation, scientists and engineers simulate a jet colliding with World Trade Center, looking for the reasons why they fell. Concerns are also rising about the vast amount of chemicals and other highly dangerous toxins, nerve agents and radioactive material that has been dumped at sea over the years.

One of the polar bears rescued from the Suarez Circus was euthanized, the zoo veterinary staff stated that years of malnutrition and poor living conditions while being kept by the circus are thought to have initiated and exacerbated the bear’s deteriorating health. Newsweek had an interesting report on illegal dog fighting in the US and the Washington Post has an interesting report about what we dog owners all know, dogs think.

Indeed a very powerful comment. These are the type of aggressiveness and fire power we need to use when attacking the government and others who are jeopardizing our society. I hope more people listen to the video.
Good presentation indeed

Now that all that accepted those stoves, refrigerators, promises of scholorships for their children have diminished, do we as a people have the right to start a drive for impeaching the Government that was voted back in again"? I am sure that those that have already received their payoffs will squeal like pigs if they know that a higher supervision (The Dutch) will over see the process. Just wondering!

I would say no, this is not the US. Here you have 11 seats and the majority vote in the Commissioners, you would probably need a majority to remove them too, which in the 6-5 situation means the fall of the govt. It would have to be an extreme issue, with lots of evidence and with huge public pressure for such a thing to have any chance of happening here. Also, you need a 'formidible' opposition. - Flipper
