The brutal murder of Angelique Chauvire - No leads?
Almost one year ago, the body of Angelique Chauvire was found on the Dawn Beach Hill road. She had been brutally murdered and sexually abused with a tree branch.
A news article from the SXM News Network posted here today gives an update. Apparently the authorities have no leads. I have some for them below.

Over the past year I have been asking around a little in Orient Beach, and this is the story I have managed to piece together. How much of it is true I am not sure, but the sources knew Angelique, the kind of people her boyfriend mixed with and they have no reason to mislead.
Anglique's boyfriend was apparently mixed up with some very unsavory characters who were/are involved with class A drug dealing. He owed them money.
Angelique apparently got a phone call on the night she went missing, it was from these unsavory characters and they gave her a message, basically that her boyfriend was history if he didn't have some money for them, perhaps even if he did. Angelique offered to pay them some and arranged to meet them.
Three days later she was found dead and horrifically brutalised on Dawn Beach Hill.
So, the story would seem they decided to murder her and send a message to her BF.
Now, I have a real BIG problem here with both the Dutch Side and the French Side Authorities. There are plenty of leads in this case, below are a few questions that they should be asked.
1. Were DNA samples taken? From her body and the crime scene?
2. Was the crime scene FULLY inspected by a forensics team?
3. Have they heard the rumored story as I have written above? (Rumors ARE leads.)
4. Just what exactly have they been doing this past year with this case?
5. How many meetings or exchanges of information have the two sides had on this case?
Chief Prosecutor Mr. Taco Stein, Capitaine Pascal Lalouat, we would like some answers, please.

Flipper Nice questions, but it seems like you forget this is SXM, they dont even have breathlyzers, do you really believe that they would conduct DNA.
The police has informatiion but they simply have their hands tied, Read the judgements that were handed down in the court yesterday.
The Gendarmes are worst they plant drugs in people house to make a case. What you are asking them to do is work...Innvestigate... Unfortunately SXM is a black world and the Gendarmes call themselves White... Angie BF was a colored man you know that too, so you should know for them she was an outcast.... Sorry burt this too is rumors
Although this is way off the topic, I was looking at land in the Dawn Beach area today and my mind ran on this lady and I asked my spouse if anything ever became of this. It's quite disturbing to know that the police never seem to be able to solve any crime on the island.
The island only consists of that many square miles, yet the "Politie" can't seem to get anything right. Just as you noted, this is St. Maarten, however that is not an excuse for the authorities to roam freely without being accountable for not properly investigating anything on the island.
Their lack of being able to solve anything or lack of CARING to solve any issue on the island has lead to many residents taking matters into their own hands. Unfortunately, this only adds to the crime rate, but adds a sense of relief to those who think they have served their own justice.
This lady did not deserve anything that occurred to her, however the events took place, but whether she was in the wrong crowd or not her killer(s) should be apprehended. Who knows how many they have murdered prior to her.
Our island's crime rates are escalating through the roof, which will ultimately lead to a drastic decline in tourism- the end result is economic hardship.
As you have noted, the Gendarmes have been accused of wrongdoing, but the Dutch authorities are not without their faults. Therefore, without the right people on the force and the proper training, it would be hard to see a change in the crime that occurs on St. Maarten.
does anyone know where the boyfriend is now? and was he interviewed and questioned?
Far as I know, her boyfriend is in Dominica. Angie was very much in love with him and planned to move to that island.
By the way, the investigation is in the hands of the authorities on the French side; the Dutch assist on request.
