Mr Glen Carty WILL get his TV license, period ! ! !

unless the press becomes agressive like in Curacao and starts reporting these things and keeps hammering on them. From what I understand, in the history of Curacao there was only one person of UTS that managed to become Managing Director with a "Ing." degree, which was Ing. Angel Kook. The goverment has a policy that without a Masters degree or IR (Technische Hogeschool) title you can not become Managing Director of UTS. Managers also have to have at least a bachelors degree (Ing. or so). Yet, Glen Carty is General Manager UTS Eastern Caribbean with only a HAVO-5 degree, not even VWO. This means that he's very well politically connected. He was also very best friends with Julio Constancia, UTS's former Managing Director. He doesn't have a telecommunications degree and came from van Dorp/Eddine. Before that he worked for Xerox Curacao as a photo copy technician (as far as we could find out). In other words he WILL get his TV license, whether you like it or not. Because this is St. Maarten and in this small community of St. Maarten everyone needs anyone for a favour. TV stations and radio stations, brace yourselves. Your about to go under unless you start looking for some political friends with money and give them some shares in your station. If you think this is a joke, sit and watch how this happens and learn.

When you finish the 'Hogeschool' (Technical Faculty at College) you obtain the "ing." title, that is pretty techie for SXM standards,

a higher level, where a person has done actual scientific research and where the person is prepped for higher management function is the one at 'ir.' level,
it is at average a five year study at one of the Universities in Holland.

nonsense!

A person with a Hts diploma (ing. or Bsc) can also be prepped for a higher management position, TU is just a difference of two years after HTS which means that the person gathered extra theorie knowledge in the field the person choose! By the way, having an Ir title don't make you a qualified manager or engineer, because having an Ir title without the necessary experience and up to date knowledge in both fields, that person would be a failure and will not be able to keep up the pace as a professional engineer or manager nowadays. So, without upgrading your knowledge on a regular basis, your degree would be just like having a chicken in a freezer, Nul , Nul!
