The Dutch Marines visit SXM....May 21-May 26 for Operation Hurex (Hurricane Exercise) This type of operation is carried out at the beginning of every hurricane season bringing together the Royal Dutch Marines, Police, Fire Department, Voluntary Corps of St. Maarten and several other agencies. If you are on SXM at this time do not be alarmed. Example: a scenario was fabricated , where a Marine, realistically swathed in ketchup, had apparently "lost his leg" in an automobile accident. The "victim" and his leg were transported to hospital ambulance personnel.
