Not a hurricane this time but a massive earthquake hit SXM at around 3:30pm this afternoon.
Most people on the island in all districts felt and heard this massive quake, sounded like a loud truck outside the buildings -a loud roaring sound.
I did not see any structural damages to buildings in Philipsburg, heard that some small items fell off walls at someones house but otherwise no major damages- at least not from reports reaching me.
I have not heard anything from the French side as yet.
Reports are saying that the quake hit a high 7.something on the richter scale.
