You said it just right Hady,
The opposition is either clueless or in my opinion they don't hit too hard about GGV because they want a dig in too when they get in.
The barters are going on for business licenses, work permits, residence permits, you think the opposition is not eyeing this and will want to do the same?
They are seeing this as a way to enrich themselves while in government, after all they learnt from the best, the Democratic Party! Look at the group of them, especially the new candidates, not one of these folks have done anything in the community with youth, environment, education, community councils, safe haven, foster homes, you name it.
With the exception of Terry Peterson who works with children and church groups, most of the others are wannabee politicians who see this as a way to further their personal goals. Same for the DP, Jeffery Richardson, assistant to Roy Marlin, what will he be telling us new?
Leroy Deweever sold off most of St.Maarten land to foreigners, not one iota of his personal time went in to community service. The only group that had it right was the union, when they said that Laveist has to be investigated, I hope they filed a criminal complaint and take this further.
Many people are upset with Laveist as they did not elect him to lobby for the foreigners. His job is to make sure that locals are employed, that locals get first priority when jobs are available. He should be calling a press conference for the PENHA workers who worked for years in the store, not for foreign assholes who harrass our tourists with scratch and win cards.
We need rules and regulations on sxm, we need laws and we need to get tougher on immigration as this is the root of all evils on sxm. Corruption and a lax immigration along with a total neglect of environmental issues is what we are suffering from, someone please help!
And the opposition which very likely will be in power after April 20th is not addressing these issues, so we can only expect more of the same hogwash and more suffering for the people. I say that the 5 years that Holland gave us for the transition period as higher supervision for financials and justice is not enough, we need 20 years!
And it is with this I disagree with Ms. Gracita when she called the higher supervision as colonial, she is really on the moon.
