Thank you for asking those questions,
Let me explain the foundation as it is now,
We have a board and supporters and volunteers.
The board makes the decisions.
Supporters and volunteers always can give input.
Up until November 2004, PRIDE had monthly meeting, however with the renovation of the Great bay Hotel we have not been able to meet with our supporters and volunteers in meetings.
The board does however stay in touch and organise matters.
As for Yearly membership, we did discuss this about 3 years ago, however nothing ever came about it.
For now, anyone can contact myself or Alita Singh and SHOW they are interested by joining our hands-on activities and staying in touch with our board via email.
Why I say show is because I will not tolerate persons who will use PRIDE as a stepping stone for their own political/ego/or personal interest.
I am very strong and adamant about this.
I have always made it extremely clear that PRIDE will not be politically affiliated with any party.
Kendall Dupersoy who is now editor in Chief of the NATIONAL newspaper was one of the founding members of the PRIDE foundation.
Kendall understand this and is still active with PRIDE at cleanup events and supports PRIDE in his newspaper.
However, Kendall is not on the board.
We have had persons come to meetings and give opinions and what not, when the dirty work had to be done, they were nowhere to be seen.
As for visitors supporting PRIDE, this has always been the case, we have had several timeshare visitors bring us monetary donations along with school supplies for the public schools.
One of our yearly contributors are Mr and Mrs Simmons, who stay at the Orient Beach Club twice yearly.
Mr amd Mrs. Simmons have also attended cleanup campaigns when they were on vacation and got dirty in the process.
So if you are interested in becoming an ACTIVE member/supporter of PRIDE please fell free to contact myself or Alita Singh and we can see how best one can contribute.
Either monetary or helping along with cleanup campaigns.
Emails can be sent to bernveen@yahoo.com
or alita_singh@hotmail.com
Thank you very much and hoping to hear from you more
