The EWEF needs government involvement.
No international funding agency will just hand over 5 million dollars to a foundation without government endorsement and commitment.
International funding agencies would like to first see that government has indeed made a commitment to preserve the land as a Park.
This commitment has to be in writing and in legislations.
The land has to be zoned for Park purposes, again government involvement.
Some funding agencies like Stichting Doen do not fund such an amount anymore of 5 million dollars, they would co-finance, which means EWEF should come up with 2.5mil and they would fund the rest.
The kind of amounts that was paid out back in the days for the purchase of Klein Bonaire is not achievable anymore from funding agencies.
