EWE - Save it today or lose it forever!
An article in the Daily Herald today reported that EWE Bv, the hopeful developer and buddy of Henry Brookson, our so-called representative in Holland, is taking the Executive Council to court because of their failure to make a decision on the planned development of EWE. Read it and then join us below to discuss it further.

From the very beginning the DP administration has supported the plans by EWE Bv to develop Emilio WIlson Estate, with much enthusiasm. Their "Man in the Hague" Henry Brookson is involved up to his eyeballs and it was only because of public pressure and outrage that the DP were forced to support an Island Council Resolution to "investigate" how to purchase and preserve the Estate. (This resolution did not come from them, they took the one the opposition presented, made a few adjustments and presented it as their own.)
Were they sincere with their votes?
Let's see now. They said they would put a three-man committee together which would report back to the Island Council in 60 days. The committee was never formed and there was no report to the IC.
Roy Marlin assured us that Govt. would be happy to work with The Emilio Wilson Estate Foundation. Today, almost 8 months after making this statement, and despite several letters from EWEF requesting a meeting and information, no contact has been made and no replies to any letters received.
The Government commissioned archaeologist Jay Haviser to survey the estate and he presented his report to the ExCo at the end of February. This report has not yet been made public, despite requests from EWEF for it to be released. (I guess they don't want the people of the island to know about their history, eh?)
From the beginning the Island Government's (DP's) sincerity about EWE has been a farce. One could almost think that the present situation of their being taken to court by EWE Bv is all part of their plan to help the development go through. Their incompetance and mismangement of this issue will also be on show in court, they will lose the case and end up having to give the permit. "We lost in court, we had no choice" they will cry!
EWE Bv should take into account that a court case based on the same arguments could probably be bought against government and the ExCo by the EWEF and other parties. This is not going to be a pushover and they really should walk away and let the island, its community and the people have their National Park. Their claim of having "bought the land" is highly questionable. As far as this writer is aware, no papers have been registered with Kadaster to support this statement.
More details and new information will be coming out soon so stay tuned.
