To the writer of this piece- First, I am very offended by the language and tone you used in this piece- I'm sure that was your intention but I wanted to let you know that even heterosexuals can be offended by an article like this. Second, I, who am not a "silly homosexual", have expressed concerns about your island not because of the hate crime but because of the reports from the victims of what happened when the police responded to the scene. When one of your good friends is nearly killed by someone else you expect the crime to be taken seriously and for a thorough and proper investigation to pursue. I and the rest of Ryan's friends, anxiously await to hear of the capture and trial of the men who hurt our friend so badly.
I hope that in time you may learn about people not like yourself and come to regret the hurtful things you wrote in this editorial.
