Round up - 20 June 05
Flipper | Mon, 2005-06-20 12:17

Last week the Consul for the Dominican Republic on St. Maarten met with Police Chief Commissioner Holiday who has appointed the Police spokesman, "Janchi" Leonard as liason between the Police and the Consul.

It was also revealed that over 4000 Dom. Rep. citizens are missing and that the woman who claimed to be abused by Loor after the Francis Bar Raid of 6th March 05 was now back on the island, illegally.

The Today revealed a little more by confirming that St. Maarten has no problem letting "exotic entertainers" from the DR on to the island, outlining the hypocratic position of many individuals in office who claim to have "morals" and "religion". Chief Holiday also let it be know that the shooting in Dutch Quarter was probably an accident.
The Consul said she would like to set up a meeting with immigration representatives from both sides of the island but is busy until sometime next year. (Eh?)

No news on the follow up to the Francis Bar story, however this letter in the Daily Herald on the 16th was interesting.
