I understand that Raf Boasman is appointed as chair to the Telem board. He was the campaign manager for Maria Semblance Molanus. Coincidence?
On top of that the appointment wasn't done properly so it seems.
Can anyone fill us in why exactly Boasman is qualified to chair a multi million dollar telecommunications company? Is it his experience in boards and running big business in general or does he have some kind of higher management degree we are not aware of?

I think it is high time to stop this charade of appointing all kind of unqualified people to boards just because they local. Many of them have no clue what it is about being in boards and running a company. Why don't we look for people somewhere else. The world is full with professional, knowledgeable and experienced people who wouldn't mind being part of these kind of boards and actually bring something to the table. Is it problem that we hire, let's say, a couple of americans, trini's or even britts to help us with filling boardpositions in a meaningful manner or is that a nono because of the "bawn here" syndrom? And while we're at it. Who actually has a meaningful degree in the executive council and island council? I ask that because quite some of them seem to lack a general comprehension how the world works these days and I was wondering why that is.
