I missed this story, so I am so happy you posted it.
Very good background information and opinion of the reporter. The talk is that Brookson is planning to offer the BV the land if they manage to get the permit. And if they don't get the permit, he is planning to apply in his name as he now claims he is the owner.
I also understood that some BV members are not happy with Brookson turn of events of him going behind their back and obtaining the land himself without them as partners.
But whatever the case, environmentalists are still waiting for our EXCO to zone this estate, putting it on the monument list as decoration is not enough as we have seen proposed monuments on that famous list disappear due to manmade fires, bulldozers and wonderful promises of rebuilding old structures to their original state (read: WAJANG DOLL)
There was a letter to the editor about the Guavaberry building on Front street, this letter was written by an anonymous writer, letter writer was complaining that rumours are that an Indian merchants conglomerate is or will be or has already bough this old historical building.
Anyone knows more about this deal, if True or False?
