Does AUC do animal experiments in lab?
If so it is unnecessary to use animals in medical training, because there are humane and effective non-animal teaching methods - cadavers, patient simulators and sophisticated computer programs.
Thanks in advance.

Ooooh, touchy subject! It pits everyone, from the 'I love cockfighting crowd' to the fanatic PETAziod and everyone in the middle. I'm in the middle myself, I oppose a lot of what does go on because as you say, there are plenty of alternatives. However, I also understand the need to use animals, such as mice and rats at times and I accept that.

It's a wonder really that our SMMC doesn't appear to have an kind of intern program going on with the AUC. Does anyone know if it does? I suspect that there is very little that can't be taught using the above mentioned methods and hospital classes and experience.

I have no idea if or what animals may be used at the AUC, I hope your question will be seen as just that, a question, not an accusation.(I assume it is a question, though your wording is a little sketchy if so.) Trollish and Flammer comments will not be published, if anyone doesn't know what those words mean, look them up :) - Flipper
