Rising crime rates? All over the world? Well, at least not in the Netherlands, where statistics show a decline. Nevertheless, the feeling of insecurity has risen...but anyway; I agree with you that the Govt. should shrink and with that, the tax system ought to be facilitated.

Yet, if growing staff seems to be a problem then why would people want to digitalise everything? That'll require a serious enlargement of the team at the Vineyard Building.

In my humble opinion, St Maarten ought to just become a little more like Monaco where people don't have to pay taxes, because tourism brings in enough cash. Does that ring a bell? Tourism! Yes the main source of $$ here, so maybe someday...
