St. Maarten needs a real public transport system, efficient and reliable. The recent statements from the Bus Drivers Association makes it even more clear that we will never get it while we have the private license policy in place now. Both the DP and NA are incapable of making the tough and important decisions needed for our island in this issue, both vying for and hoping to gain bus drivers votes in future elections and not piss them off.

Solving the public transport problem would go a long way to solving many of our traffic issues. How long will this farce continue?
