I fully understand your point and I hope what you say is true. I just can't get out of my mind the numerous recent reports in the papers and here at SMPI regarding victims unable to obtain police aid and attention following a crime. All the road controls in the world won't improve the locals' and the tourists' feelings of safety and well-being when requests for help go unanswered, crimes go unsolved and criminals go free.
