Again we are reactive to a crisis instead of being proactive. You're so right, many calls are made to 911 from other cell phoses, which are not subscribe to Telcell and these calls are not answered, not in the the day time or evenings. This is crazy!!!! Even if Telcell incoming calls are directed to the main exchange, the calls should be answered by a Police on duty and directed acordingly.Let's blame Telcell and not the incompetant police department, it's so easy. Why is Mr Carty coming to the rescue. I guess UTS subscribers are happy to know that if in case of an emergency THEIR calls will be the only ones coming through.
NOw what, should Telcell , ECC, SMITCOMS, Amigo, Orange and Digicel send tech guys to put in their codes into the system in order for it to work.
It takes a fire to destroy a family complex to fix the problem. Zenitel who sold them the system and the police department should have been on top of it. It wasn't to long ago that the infratructure to receive emegency calls was put into operation. We expect and should demand more that this lame excuse.
Tommorow it could be U calling for help.
