Justice St Maarten style?
Swift | Fri, 2007-07-06 16:35

The Daily Herald today announced that Duracell's sentence on appeal was reduced from six years to three years. Amazing! The court is sending a message that assault with intent to kill using a tire iron is practically a misdemeanor crime in St Maarten. Instead of any jail time at all, maybe the police should just write the "perp" a ticket and the court could slap his wrist real hard by giving him a few "points" on his driver's license. If he does it enough times, his license might even be suspended! Even better, the police should arrest the "vic" lying on the ground with blood gushing from his head for loitering. He would wind up in jail since it would be hard to appeal that one.
