Rumors about investigation of RM & LL are not very suprising. I feel the dutch should send an investigation team. If SXM gov't was managing their affairs in a transparent manner and demonstrated good financial managment they would get a seperate status more readily.

The dutch is wary of giving more autonomy unless there is stringent supervision to ensure that the gov't does not continue to mismanage public funds.

Furthermore, the slot verklaring is a control mechanism to monitor the politicans. ( basically the Dutch are saying we don't trust your gov't however we a willing to give you a trial period to see how you perform) Once again it seems that this gov't validates why they had to sign this agreement.
